UK Details and Results Page

For all those people who are interested in the Eurovision Song Contest, here are some details and results about the 2007 contest in the UK.

This is the fourth year of Making your mind up. It will be broadcast live from the Maidstone Studios, in Kent and not from Television Centre, on Saturday 17 March 2007 on BBC1. Perhaps too many wanted to go and see the show! There are 6 songs competing for this years UK entry.  Presented by Terry Wogan and Fearne Cotton.

Over 210,000 people wanted tickets to the contest but only 600 tickets are allocated. A massive interest.
The UK is the last country to announce their entry. Due to TV Scheduling (eg Comic Relief does Fame Academy) the BBC was allow a time extension for their entry.

The UK will go straight to the Eurovision Final on Saturday 12 May 2007. Voting will be done by telephone or sms texting.

BBC1 19:30-20:30

• Presented by Terry Wogan and Fearne Cotton.
• The panellist were John Barrowman and Mel Giedroyc
• 41 People from 41 other countries were there and voted. All had 1 vote. 2nd Place was Cyndi and 1st Place with Big Brovas.

BBC1 21:30-22:00

• The top 2 acts goes through to the final round. Phone voting stopped.
• Brian, Liz went out first
• Then the face off between Cyndi and Big Brovaz. Cyndi won
• The next face off between Justin Hawkins & Beverlei Brown and Scooch. Scooch won
• Therefore Cyndi and Scooch had a sing off. Phone voting continued.
• Additional Performance was the 2006 Winner Lordi with "Hard rock hallelujah"
• No regional voting this year.
• Final results, Scooch won. Slight confusion who won when the results was announced, as Terry said Cyndi and Fearne said Scooch!

• The Semi Finals will be broadcast on BBC3 at 20:00 for 2 hours on Thursday 10 May 2007, commentator unknown at the moment but it could be Paddy O'Connell.
• The Finals will be broadcast on BBC1 at 20:00 for 3 hours 20 minutes on Saturday 12 May 2007, UK commentator will be Terry Wogan (of course. Eurovision is not Eurovision without Terry)
