Italy cannot enter the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 contest as they did not broadcast the 1999 contest. Hungary, Slovakia and Greece has withdrawn from Eurovision Song Contest 2000 because of the cost but were offered the chance.. All other countries are also forbidden entry to the 2000 contest.

Luxembourg and Yugoslavia are no longer members of the EBU hence they cannot enter any more contest

As like 1999, the songs can be sung in any language. I assume that English will be used the most.

Tickets went on Sale on 22 November 1999, however, rumours has it that they have sold out already! It is only 23 November 1999!

Eurovision Song Contest 2001 update!

So far, at least 17 countries qualify for the 2001 contest, including United Kingdom, Ireland, Israel, Finland, France, Germany, Spain, Bosnia. Full list will appear here soon.

Update 1999 contest.

There has been problems with the Croatian song in 1999 with "Marija Magdalena", due to the backing tracks used in the contest. There seems to be a male voice in the backing track, but there wasn't a male singer on stage. This has mean that Croatia has their points reduced by 33%. This means that their new score is now 78 or 79 points. The Croatia song can stay at 4th place, however, this will affect their average score for future contest.

Details are appearing here. If anyone has any bit of information about the 2000 contest, please get in touch. Email address is at the bottom of this page.
