• There were problems with Estonia Hosting this years contest, due to money. The Estonian government have offered only £1.5million (€2million) to ETV. ETV feels that the amount is too small and that it might drive them bankrupt.
• The Eurovision Song Contest 2002 will be held at the newly built Saku Suurhall arena in Tallinn, Estonia on Saturday 25 May 2002.
• Here are the countries in draw order 1. Cyprus 2. United Kingdom 3. Austria 4. Greece 5. Spain 6. Croatia 7. Russia 8. Estonia 9. FYR Macedonia 10. Israel 11. Switzerland 12. Sweden 13. Finland 14. Denmark 15. Bosnia-Herzegovina 16. Belgium 17. France 18. Germany 19. Turkey 20. Malta 21. Romania 22. Slovenia 23. Latvia 24. Lithuania
• Tickets for the main event and rehearsals WENT on sale on Monday 28 January. It seems that tickets are only available in a package as most hotels are fully booked.
• The Estonia government has not agreed whether Estonia will go Summer time, ie, Putting the clocks forward by one hour, like most European Countries. This has delay the printing of tickets, as the start time must be printed onto the tickets. It must conform to EBU rules that it must be broadcasted at 9pm CET (8pm UK). The capacity of Saku Suurhall in Tallinn will only be for 6,400 visitors however, over half of this, 4,400 will be reserved for the organisers including delegates. 1,500 will be on sale to the public to people in Estonia via an auction from 12 December 2001, while the other 500 tickets will be on a first come first server bases for the rest of the World. Dress rehearsal goes on sale on 28 January 2002. Only 610 tickets were sold to Estonian. Tickets for the night starts from £180 (€290). Dress rehearsal will cost around £20 (€30).
• The official Estonia Eurovision Song Contest 2002 is now up. The official site, www.eurovision.tv went live on 1st March 2002. The rules of the 2002 contest can be downloaded here.
• Full details regarding songs was known from February/March 2002. Estonia picked theirs on 26 January 2002.
• Countries broadcasting the 2002 live will be allowed to enter the 2003 contest. So far, here is the list : Albania, Iceland, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal. UK, Spain, France and Germany gets automatic qualification due to Big 4 rule.
• According to BBC Liquid News, the recap of the songs are done in reverse order, so the last song you will be reminded is the first song!

• At 13:10 on Friday 24 March 2002, I was interviewed live on BBC Radio Leeds in the "Afternoon Show".
• Extra news : The total audience for that contest, according to figures supplied by Estonian Television, was 166 millions viewers: a 90% share in Malta; 85.5% in Denmark, 81.8% in Sweden; 80.4% in Spain; 77% in Finland; 67% in Israel; 36% in the UK and even 9.2% in Australia. 53% of all Europeans watch the show. UK nearly had 8 million viewers.

UK Entry. If you remember Jessica Garlick who appeared on Star for the night and Pop Idols, she is representing the UK with "Come Back".		The presenters in Estonia are Annely Peebo and Marko Matvere.

• Sadly, Christopher Price, who was to present the UK Eurovision Specials on BBC Choice and Simucast the live event, had died.

Here is the list of songs entering the Eurovision Song Contest 2002.

The song from Lithuania, "We All" by "B'Avarija" has been disqualified as it has been previously being released. New Song to be known by 28 March.

Here is the situation regarding the varies of Countries before the full country list were known. These are my opinion and may be corrected in the future. Ireland who won several times in the past are relegated from 2002!
