For all those people who are interested in the Eurovision Song Contest, here are some details about the 2003 contest in the UK.
Due to Tara, the Irish television channel shown on UK Satellite has ceased broadcasting, hence I cannot provide a full run down like in previous years. Also the Irish winner will be selected by a "Pop Idol" selection process running for 20 weeks, like the Spanish version in 2002.

Here are the 8 finalist for this years Song for Europe Competition, in no order, which was announced on 10 January 2003. The songs was broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Friday 31 January 2003 around 8:30am.

The UK Great British Song Contest was presented by Terry Wogan and was shown on BBC1, LIVE on Sunday 2 March 2003 at 4:35pm. Results was announced around 5:10pm. The two presenters for the Eurovision Song Contest was also mention in the programme.

"Wait For The Moment" by Esther Hart was replaced by "Now and Forever" and sung by Simon Chapman and the name Tricity" was changed to "Jemini".
Esther Hart withdrew from the UK Entry because she was offered to sing for the Netherlands in the finals.

The sort of regional voting made a come back.

Lorraine Kelly gave the UK votes in the voting. Sadly, the United Kingdom came LAST PLACE with the famous nil points, the first time in the contest history for the UK.
